2004 Fall Tree Fruit Harvest Maturity Reports Apple Maturity Reports will begin the week of August 30, 2004. Members of the Hudson Valley Regional Fruit Program can receive reports by email or by fax. Growers who already receive "Grower Alert Messages" will automatically receive the Maturity Reports. Members should contact Mike Fargione if they wish to receive the Maturity Reports but are not on his email list. New Format for Maturity Reporting: This year we plan to sample fruit maturity in Orange and Ulster Counties on Mondays and send out a brief report on the findings from those evaluations. Samples will be collected on Tuesdays from Dutchess, Columbia and Rensselaer Counties. A complete report for the entire region will be sent following the analysis of Tuesday's samples. This strategy should allow a more timely distribution of the maturity reports than was possible in past seasons.
